Microsyntactic Constructions Formed by the Russian Word raz

Summary/Abstract: The paper gives an account of phraseological units in Russian which involve the noun raz ‘time’. The focus is laid on syntactic, semantic and combinatorial properties of such units and the techniques of their adequate presentation in the grammar and the dictionary. The approaches used are those of construction grammar and microsyntax. While most of the units are depicted briefly, giving a general sketch of the phraseological fragment corresponding to the word raz, two idiomatic phrases, ni razu ‘not once’ and cherez raz ‘every other time’ are discussed in more detail.
