Representation of a heuristic scientific text as an instrument of communication (based on English and Russian scientific texts)

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the analysis of heuristic scientific texts in English and Russian investigating a large complex of linguistic material both lexical and grammatical. It studies the way a cognitive-communicative paradigm is reflected in heuristic scientific texts. The style of scientific exposition authored by an expert scholar is studied in the article as well. A scientific text is an author’s reflection over the process of scientific knowledge acquired by means of natural language. The scientific exposition conforms to monologue and dialogue which helps to get in contact with the addressee of the text who is involved in communication with the author being not only a reader of the text but a co-thinker. The method to describe linguistic phenomena is meta-language based on “common sense” which helps to depict the cognitive activity of a person.
