Summary/Abstract: The article refers to two closely connected, important works on neologisms, produced by a team of researchers directed by Olga Martincová at the Czech Language Institute of the Czech Scholarly Academy. They are: the two-volume dictionary of Czech neologisms Nová slova v češtině. Slovník neologizmù, Prague (v. 1., 1998; v. 2., 2004) and Neologizmy v dnešní češtině. It includes 16 studies - they provide a many-aspect description of gathered in the dictionary of neologisms new Czech vocabulary from the years 1985-2002. Both the volumes of the dictionary mentioned include 11,600 entries altogether, of various origins, like e.g. colloquial language, media language etc.
