Polish Language of the Elderly Generation of Poles in Krzemieniec, Ukraine

Summary/Abstract: The author of the article attempts to describe the language system of representatives of the elderly generation of Poles in Krzemieniec. To start with, she presents the town's history and linguistic situation of the Polish inhabiting it. The research shows how the social status and prestige of Polish changed. The paper also offers the capacity and research method to be used on the place. In the language system description, crucial phenomena concerning phonetics, word-formation, inflection, syntax and lexis have been distinguished. They are accompanied by examples of texts.
