Transition to a low carbon economy at the level of local government

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the issue of transition to a low carbon economy at the level of local government. The text includes a discussion of the concept of a low carbon economy as the systemic changes in the economy. Moreover it shows the areas of necessary actions, draws attention to the role of the state and local governments, especially in terms of planning, organization and finance. The aim of this paper is to present the role of local government in transition to a low carbon economy in Poland. The method of source analysis was used.
