Summary/Abstract: Aim of this study is to compare the intensity of external migra¬tion processes in both periods between the last three censuses and provide estimates for the size and structure by age and sex of foreign migration. The assessment is based on the results obtained from the census in 1992, 2001 and 2011, due to the poor quality of information on international migration from the current statistics. Obtained indirect estimates show that emigration from the country continues to be high, but due to the large immigration flows in some age groups, the negative migra¬tion balance in the second period under consideration decreased.
