Summary/Abstract: There were two cases in history of the European thought, when philosophy found the refuge in theology: in the Middle Ages and in the 19th century. In the first case scholasticism demonstrated that philosophy as a theory about principles and beginning of being, and about first causes, is necessary for the Christianity, because faith does not have such persuasiveness as reasoning. In the nineteenth century, when they dominated scientific worldview, philosophy again found refuge in theology, convinced that without consideration about sense of being, and relationship of what is and what should be, science becomes antihumanistic.
