Summary/Abstract: The paper addresses the question of what semantic properties lexicalized in verbs determine their syntactic behavior with subjects as (non)-agents in unaccusative motion constructions. Special attention is devoted to English and Serbian verbs of emission (specifically verbs of sound and partly verbs of light emission), regarding their potential to surface as verbs of motion and combine with directional phrases within motion event constructions.
