Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to describe the basic psychosocial characteristics of users of cosmetic surgery, as well as the connection between the outcome of aesthetic surgery and psychological well-being of people who are subjected to them. Some of the psychosocial predictors of using the services of cosmetic surgeries are: gender, age, selfassessment of physical attractiveness, as well as certain psychological characteristics such as low self-esteem. Despite the small number of studies, available data indicate that individuals are generally satisfied with the results of surgical procedures by which they are subject, however, little is known about the actual psychological outcomes, particularly when we are talking about long-term consequences for the psychological benefit of the users of cosmetic surgery.
