Summary/Abstract: The author notes that in the discussions on the multiculturalism of the modern world it is worth looking at some historical experience that can bring interesting thoughts to the current debates in this field. Such an interesting example can be Mozarabs who are managed to save his Christian identity in the south of the Iberian peninsula. Their uneasy example is, without a doubt, to some extent paradigmatic. Do not give into the temptation of easy isolationism, they put on a new relationship with the Arab culture, taking as a basis the concern about their own identity. This willingness to intellectual dialogue and brotherhood does not take place, however, for the price of betrayal of values.
