Summary/Abstract: The study presents a letter written by Jacques-François Ravé de Baudran in October 1717 from Adrianople to an official in Orléans. Mr. Ravé de Baudran wants to serve prinz Rákóczi who was invited by the sultan Ahmet III to the Ottoman empire. In the meantime the author of the study presents the conflitcs of the Ottomans with Austria and Venice at the beginnings of the 18th century.
