Summary/Abstract: The patriarchal family as the focus and starting point of formation of individual or collective identity of community, is a firm structure in which framework there is a strict distribution of authority. In this context, patriarchy, as the basic structure of modern society configures the patriarchal family as the basic mechanism by which the whole system works. Violation of the hierarchy within the family must be reflected even to the changes on a large-scale. Questioning of mentioned is possible to be followed by the example of the first Bosnian-Herzegovinian novel Bez nade (Without hope) by two authors - Osman Nuri Hadžić and Ivan Miličević. Although in the focus of interest is the new time and decline of privileged social groups, it is consequently reconstructed the extinction of the patriarchal way of life and degraded strong patriarchal patterns.
