Summary/Abstract: Modern trends of the development of Ukrainian economy force to pay greater attention to industries which provide food safety of the country. The bread-baking industry occupies an important place among them. To provide its further existence, it is necessary to apply administrative procedures to the determination of perspective possibilities of its development. Strategic diagnostics of an enterprise, as a constituent of strategic management process, is a complex research of external and internal environment elements. The authors have carried out strategic diagnostics of the production potential of Zhytomyr region’s breadbaking industry enterprises. It is based on the study of the internal environment of five bread-baking producers in 2010-2015 with regard to their development in the external environment. The implementation of the strategic diagnostics results enables to define the compliance of production potential with strategic activity benchmarks, to identify strategic directions and to provide further prospects of functioning.
