Summary/Abstract: This articles presents the The Holy Sacrament of Baptism- new beginning of life through union with Christ. The sacraments were instituted by Christ and were part of the Liturgical Tradition of the early Christian Church. Holy Baptism is the first of seven Sacraments in the Orthodox Christian Church. The Lord Jesus who instituted Baptism, said of the Disciples: „Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...”(Matthew 28,19). Baptism is necessary for salvation (John 3,5), and man is born a new life, new Christian is a child of God. Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life held in the Church.
