MAJOR SIDE SERVICE OF AN ARCHIVE – WORKING WITH CLIENTS

Summary/Abstract: In professional circuits, the least possible amount of attention is given to the segment of working with clients. But, examination of the data shows that work with clients is one of the most important activities of the Archive. The Archive is trying to inform the public about their activities through media, exhibitions, cultural and educational work and publishing, but the highest number of visits to the Archive is made when people need to solve personal needs and problems (status, property law, work law and similar questions). Based on the presented data it can be concluded, and seen that Archive is an institution which serves to the citizens, especially when they need help with finding the data which serve them for the exercise of rights. All presented data argue that the activities of this segment should be given more attention, and that the main activity, sorting and processing of received funds, is not only important for scientists and researchers but to the general public as well. This paper describes the activities of the Archives that is the least talked about, but it is seen that it is needed for public – it shows that the work with clients and according to client’s needs is the most important secondary activity of the Archive.
