The modernization of welfare state and social innovations on the example of the Swedish family policy - chances of initiating in Poland

Summary/Abstract: Scandinavian countries are at the forefront in activities protection and of help for their own citizens, what one qualifies with the name welfare state. The admiration over solutions of the type welfare state, if real costs of its maintenance are not known, is fully justified, but doomed from the start to fail. It seems, taking into account social transformations which took place in the XXth century in Europe, that the honest discussion about the problems of social care of the state over citizens became an absolute necessity. The multiaspect analysis of national welfare state adapted to the specificity of the given region, and not only the endeavor to general model which can be freely copied, became a fact in the public discussion. An aim of the present article is the analysis of foundations of the Swedish family-policy and the search for the answer of the question whether it is possible the duplication of the Scandinavian model. What types of social innovations introduced in the distant North caused that Swedish families are stable in the context of economic and social sense of security.
