Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author, herself a translator and biographer of Bohumil Hrabal (1914– 1997), traces the translations of his work into Spanish and Catalan, and discusses his visits to Spain in the 1990s. She also traces the public reception of his works and recalls the exhibition held in Madrid in 2014 to mark the hundredth anniversary of his birth.
