Social Support to Families of Children With Disabilities

Summary/Abstract: The importance of organized networks of support for children with disabilities and their families as well as the implementation of a new concept in three environments (educational, social and health) is the subject of this study. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship formal recommended additional support interdepartmental commission and the effects of their use. The results of research conducted with members of the interdepartmental commission and families of children with disabilities, have shown that families usually rely on informal forms of support from their immediate family. On the other hand, despite the existence of thought interdepartmental commission on the individual level of support, there are a number of systemic barriers in the implementation, monitoring, and monitoring the effects of the recommended additional support for the child with disabilities, which is poor, underdeveloped and remains on a declarative level.
