Perception of Time on the Novel „Hősöm tere” by Lajos Parti Nagy

Summary/Abstract: Reading together a literary work and Heidegger’s philosophical thesis about time enables us to defi ne the contemporary notion in a specific way. The reader gains the function of being there based on these two perspectives. In this context we can interpret the relationship between fiction and non-fiction. In the novel the character-narrator is able to create his identity by arranging the database, creating his own narrative. During the creation the mechanism of totalitarian power is also presented to us. Even though it is based on renewing procedures by which it determines the individual’s life, the freedom is possible, through creativity and through a contentful present.
