Summary/Abstract: perception of history in Platelis’ works and the images, motives and philosophical arguments prevailing in them. The philosophical thought of Jean Baudrillardabout and the transformation of history in the postmodern epoch are taken as a theoretical presumption of the article. The mechanism of civilization destroying history, myth and identity of historical individuality is reflected in the majority of Platelis’ poems. The history in his works is perceived through two groups of images: a growing seed and natural cycle in one group and logically arranged straight lines in the other. The cyclical mechanism of history embodies the growth of and the development of culture, myth and art. According to Platelis, the nature of seed involves anthological and physical fate of history and this fate in the history of the world is perceived by art which gives an important metaphysical perspective for human existence. But in the world of a modern person and in the world of art there is a gap between historical experience and its ontological resources. In the presence of historical illusion and simulation we can see the most important problem of history revealed in Platelis’ poetry. Comprehended historical movements and natural rhythm of the end of the 20th century turns into the boredom of a disclosed.
