Summary/Abstract: This article reveals the communist coup d'etat in Czechoslovakia in February 1948 as seen by the Minister of Justice at that time Prokop Drtina. He is one the leaders of the Party of people's socialists. In his memoirs he characterizes the public and political situation in the country in the autumn of 1947 and the beginning of 1948. He writes in details about his conflict with the Minister of Interior affairs, the communist V. Nosek, which brought to the resignations of 12 non-communist ministers in the Ministry Council of Klement Gotvald, as well the atmosphere of these five crucial days since the resignations till their acceptance of the president Edvard Benesh, who has definitely promised them his support. Drtina describes this act as a full capitulation and he could not show the reasons why. As a result in Czechoslovakia is established one party communist regime under soviet model.
