Summary/Abstract: Increasing competition in foreign markets, and higher customer expectations are forcing entrepreneurs need to adapt constantly to changing conditions. Often this is accompanied by the internationalization of companies, which first step is made in the sphere of trade. The article contains the results of empirical research conducted in 2010–2011 in the region of Wielkopolska. The aim of this study is to identify the determinants of international competitiveness at the level of the industry. In pursuing were used secondary sources – theoretical implications are based on studies of the literature, and their verification was done on the basis of surveys.
