Summary/Abstract: The paper considers the issue of forming family of procreation from the perspective of adolescents' visions of their own future. The issue is considered within conceptual frame that integrate theorization about "emerging adulthood" and "future time perspective". Then, we present results of the research (segment of a broader research) that included 204 adolescents 17 years of age. The aim of the study was to identify and describe: the extent to which orientation toward founding family of procreation is present and how it is elaborated in adolescents' spontaneous reports about their own future. The participants gave narrative answers to the open-type question "What kind of life will you have in ten years' time (where will you live, what will you be doing, who will be important figures in your life, what significant events do you expect to happen)?" In processing the data, we applied the method of qualitative content analysis. Main findings: two-thirds of our sample expressed their commitment to establishing their own families as subjectively important goal for in ten years' time, elaborating this goal through two general categories (emphasize romantic partnership or partnership/marital-parental functioning), which is further differentiated into three and five sub-categories (thematic patterns) presented in detail and illustrated with examples. At the end of the paper, based on the trends that emerged in this exploration, we forward the implications for future research and preventive practice.
