Summary/Abstract: A priest from a village in the surroundings of Satu Mare inhabited by Swabians decided in the early seventies to collect biographical data of the nuns who were born in that village. He urged the nuns to write their autobiography. Eleven nuns responded and have written their autobiography. The sisters entered religious orders in the first half of the 20th century. The dissolution of religious orders in 1949 created a particularly difficult situation for their members: these communities have meant much more than a spiritual and emotional support to its members. After that for most them it was hard to find a means of subsistence. The nuns wrote about this period in the seventies.
