Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to attempt to distinguish the types of business environment institutions (BET) in Warmia-Mazury Province in terms of their competitiveness and innovation. The basis of the typology were primary data — subjective characteristics grouped in the following areas: assessment of the organization's resources, assessment the level of competitiveness of the institution; assessment of the factors which determine the level of competitiveness; assessment of the level of innovation of the institutions; assessment of barriers; assessment of the factors which determine the competitiveness of services; assessment of innovation and competitiveness of the core activity. The use of k-means procedure led to the isolation of three groups of ВEI which consist of different numbers of items. The characteristic of each type of ВEI was conducted using importance and structure indicators.
