Summary/Abstract: The interpretative skills of individuals should be developed at schools. Social sciences and humanities, including history, are very proper for these goals, because one of the tasks of history teaching are developing the autonomy of individuals, their critical thinking, different points of view on the same historical event. Interpretation in history teaching is a very complex process. Not all historical sources could be considered as objective. The paper shortly presents the research of the pupil historical interpretative skills. The research presented in this paper suggests the following generalizations. In the National history examination there are no possibilities to interpret historical events differently. Pupils are only stuffed into the frames of historical true, and teaching doesn’t develop independence, autonomy of individual, but the tasks based by researchers shows more possibilities to estimate interpretative skills.
