Their professional needs are considered in terms of useful topics, skills and competences development, short and long-term career aims. The needs analysis questionnaire was pre-tested on and applied to Biology students. The structure of the article is the following: first, needs analysis are presented in relation to teaching ESP; then, a rationale for the study is given and the aims are established; finally, the findings are interpreted in the context of changes in teaching paradigms towards student-centred approaches.
