Summary/Abstract: This comparative approach aims at bringing together the literary works of two prominent Norwegian writers, namely Astrid Hjertenæs Andersen (1915-1985) and Jan Erik Vold (b. 1939). The present paper focuses on two volumes of poetry, De tyve landskaper (The Twenty Landscapes2, 1980) written by Astrid Hjertenæs Andersen and Store hvite bok å se (Great White Book to See3, 2011) whose author is Jan Erik Vold. In spite of the fact that these two volumes of poetry were published in different centuries, there are several elements regarding the content of the poems that create a strong poetic relation between them. Consequently, nature and especially nature in winter is one of the elements that can be found both in Astrid Hjertenæs Andersen’s and in Jan Erik Vold’s poems, thus giving a wider perspective upon the two similar and still very different literary works.
