Summary/Abstract: In the present paper, I focus on Scheler’s concept of the ego, his ethical personalism, the metaphysical horizons of his phenomenology of the morally acting person, his concept of personhood, and his phenomenology of the person as a moral agent. The mainstay of the paper is formed by an analysis of Scheler’s phenomenology of personhood, the foundational phenomena of morals, Scheler’s procedure in ethics, his concept of value, and his theory of the person in the state.
