Summary/Abstract: This work was inspired by a desire to emphasize the Index for Inclusion methodology applied in the schools of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton aiming at singling out the priorities important for the school development plans. The methodology has been recognized as a good instrument to obtain a clearer picture of the work of school, knowing where they are now and in what direction the quality of school work should be developing and improving. At the same time, the intention is to point out the role of parents in the process of implementing the Index for Inclusion and their participation in the school work in general. How and in what ways parents are involved, what importance is attached to them as a resource of every school, what we need to do in order to change the current situation, how to interest parents to get involved in school – is just a series of questions that we got answers to during the four workshops that were organized at the level of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. We especially highlight the awareness of parents and their need to establish themselves as partners and at the same time the need of schools to involve them in certain activities.
