Summary/Abstract: With the technological progress, machines and computers have greatly replaced man in performing routine works. So employees are not needed in such large numbers as they used to; now there is more need for entrepreneurs and creative individuals who will create changes. As a result, the role of education also changes. Now the main aim is to produce creative individuals, and this is only possible if school encourages creativity. In this article we speak about creativity in teaching mathematics, which is often considered boring and uninteresting, but it is, as this paper will show, everything only not that. At the beginning a theoretical aspect of creativity is given, what is meant when it is said that somebody is creative, how to achieve creativity in teaching, what makes a creative teacher, how to recognize a creative student and finally how to apply all these pieces of advice in teaching mathematics. After that we speak about the games in teaching mathematics, about the positive effect of games on the development of children, and about the advantages and ways of applying games in teaching. And at the end, there follow practical examples of games in teaching mathematics, which can in a simple way be fitted into the instruction of mathematics.
