Local animators as an enclave creating factor

Summary/Abstract: The article is the result of empirical qualitative researchmade within the project “Initiative and people in the culture of theLubuskie province – new dimensions”. It describes three examplesof local cultural animators. The animators, being the subject of research,have developed different animation strategies (strategiesof boosting social initiatives and grassroots activity), which in thearticle are linked with sociological concepts of social enclaves. Thepotential of these strategies in the creation of enclaves is revealedin the paper. Additionally, the concept of social enclaves combiningthe enclaves with the theories of social elites and subcultures isalso suggested.
