Summary/Abstract: Azerbaijan is the most secular Muslim-majority state in the world. However, despite the declaration of religious freedom in its constitution, Azerbaijan does not make it easy for Christian organizations to operate. Even with thousands of years of Christian history in the Caucasus, attitudes towards Christianity today are largely based on Azerbaijan’s sour relations with Armenia.
