Summary/Abstract: This paper considers recourse claims of German social insurance holders addressed at insurance companies in the Republic of Croatia, and the issues linked to legal grounds of such claims occurring in case law and legal theory, as well as the scope and the limits to obligations assumed under the insurance agreement. The paper thus analyses the content of specific claims, legal norms regulating the insurance companies’ obligations, the position of the legal theory and case law, and provides a short review of the legal system in the region and the European Union.
