Parallel trade of pharmaceuticals in Poland - 10 years of experience and development

Summary/Abstract: The parallel trade of pharmaceutical products are products imported into one Member State of the European Economic Area (EEA) from another and placed on the market in the destination Member State, outside the manufacturer’s or its licensed distributor’s formal channels. This activity has been a legal in Republic of Poland after the European Union accession. The parallel trade can reduce the price of pharmaceuticals products by introducing competition into market. This article aims to outline the 10 years of experience with parallel trade of pharmaceuticals products in Republic of Poland. It presents the Polish market development based on selected a few indicators.
