Summary/Abstract: Article relates to changes of the reality around us. Alterations include all aspects of social life, especially education, which cincludes education of small children. The function of preschool is modifying. This evolution affects duties of preschool to children as well as parents. Currently the major function is supporting the child’s development. It is consistent with the subjective nature of contemporary education. Furthermore, educational and didactic activity of pre–school teachers, which accounts for this kind of function, should contribute to creating favourable conditions to give equal opportunity for education of children who are on the threshold of primary school.
