Summary/Abstract: The family, which is in the first and the most natural educational environment for the child, teaches him certain behaviors, norms of behaviors and values. Parents, as the first educators, have a huge impact on the process of forming the beliefs, moral values, and social roles and prepare them for assuming various social roles and taking more responsible tasks. The mechanism that allows the continuity of the generations is the intergenerational transmission of values, i.e. the process of transferring values that are important to parents through the relation with their children. What is a family? How to understand the possible values? Is the transmission of values possible and if so, how significant is it? These questions always arouse the cognitive interest of sociologists, psychologists, and educators, as well as „ordinary” membersof society.
