Summary/Abstract: The study “RODICA OJOG-BRAȘOVEANU – FEATURES OF THE DETECTIVE NOVEL” sets as its objective to present the features of the detective novel, giving examples from the writings of the Romanian writer Rodica Ojog-Brasoveanu. This has a complex structure. In the first part I built up a short history of the detective novel, including definitions of it, representatives from our country, and in the broader context of universal history. Next, I presented the structure of Rodica Ojog-Brasoveanu’s novels. Another chapter deals with stereotypes of the detective novel and original items in Rodica Ojog-Brasoveanu’s work. The conclusion concerns the writer’s new, personal aesthetic formula, in a delightful style. Literature becomes somber in the case of this writer only in the moments when the mystery of a crime needs to be revealed, and that is why the tragic-comic becomes a dominant feature of her unique style. The modern features of her writings are the elements of a psychological novel, a family novel, a love novel, a tragic destiny novel (of sudden death), a novel that presents the society in Bucharest and that illustrates its manners in a tragic-comic atmosphere.
