Summary/Abstract: Terms and definitions play an important role in scientific proceedings, especially in natural sciences, in which the limits of our cognition (with the help from new methods and tools) are systematically overcome. This paper attempts to provide a systematic framework for a discussion of significance and meaning of the term 'time' in the sciences based on theory of scientific explanation formulated by C. G. Hempel.
