Summary/Abstract: Changes in the functioning of the family constitute the important social issue in ourtimes, particularly because upturns of negative phenomena are distinct, such as divorces, long-term departures, the breaking of family bonds. Relating them additionally to civilization and cultural changes it is possible to conclude that they are contributing also to the socialisation shift as described by Neil Postman, or Zbigniew Kwieciński, Zbyszko Melosik, Bogusław Śliwerski. The dysfunctional family and its wrong/incomplete structure is an indication of educational destructiveness. Therefore these circles are more and more often characteristic as failing and not satisfying essential needs of the socialised generations. The present text constitutes an attempt of a theoretical description of changes in the functioning of the family in the context of the socialization changes taking place.
