Summary/Abstract: The paper considers a general class of Bayes estimators for estimating thefinite population mean which also achieve design consistency. Some exactresults are given where Bayes estimators agree with the Horvitz-Thompsonor ratio estimators. For a wider class of priors, asymptotic mathematicalequivalence of Bayes estimators with the above estimators is provided.
