Summary/Abstract: Srebrenica and its surrounding areas in the past had an influence on developing of the Bosnian and Herzegovina`s history. Its geographical position and natural resources helped Srebrenica to develop as important coal mining centre of the roman Dalmatia and Panonia. During the 14th century Srebrenica developed as an important economical centre in the middle aged Bosnia. Social-economical develop of this place in the second part of the 14th century helped to many countries around to start their power on the wider areas around Srebrenica. In the first decade of the 15th century, very often, the power between Bosnian kings, local ruler and others have swapped in Srebrenica. At the beginning of the second decade ugar king gave Srebrenica to Serbian despot. There are several opinions about the exact timing of those happenings. Some historians think that that happened 1411, others that it happened during the year of 1412. The importance of having a power over Srebrenica is obvious from the fact from 1415. In the third decade of the 15th century Bosnian king Tvrtko II will have tried to maintain power in this area. At the same time, the people of Dubrovnik rebelled as well as the reaction of the local despot.
