Summary/Abstract: Conflict resolution, leadership and conflict management skills, the knowledge and respect of cultural differences and human rights... All this should characterize a Serbian policeman in the 21st century. The list of these characteristics is the outcome of a functional analysis of the tasks envisaged for the future police in Serbia. The purpose of the analysis was to define the aims to be attained through the reform of the police and their education.
