Rational Reconstruction: an Approach to a History of Philosophy

Summary/Abstract: The topic of an article belongs both to the philosophy of history as well as to a history of philosophy. The notion under discussion is a rational reconstruction as a method of reading the texts of thinkers of the past, proposed by Richard Rorty. The article suggests some reflections on the relationships between philosophy and its history. The method of rational reconstruction can be used in theological investigation as well, for better understanding of past theological texts. The article shortly discusses the origin of the notion in question and emphasizes the link between contemporary philosophical and theological discourse and actual philosophical thought. Šio straipsnio tema priklauso dviem filosofijos sritims – istorijos filosofijai ir filosofijos istorijai. Straipsnyje analizuojama racionaliosios rekonstrukcijos samprata yra filosofijos istorijos tyrimo metodas, taikomas praeities filosofų tekstams skaityti. Toks racionaliosios rekonstrukcijos supratimas būdingas R. Rorty. Straipsnyje siūloma apmąstyti filosofijos santykį su jos istorija. Racionaliosios rekonstrukcijos metodas gali būti taikomas ir studijuojant teologijos istoriją. Straipsnyje trumpai aptariama šios sampratos kilmė, akcentuojamas šiandienio filosofinio bei teologinio diskurso istorinės sampratos ryšys su aktualiąja filosofine mintimi.
