Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to draw a philosophical reflection about the man as a subject creating the world of cultural reality from early works (1924–1943) of the Polish sociologist, Stanisław Ossowski. The author of this article analyses Ossowski’s considerations that regard the logical concept of sign, psychological principles of cognition, the role of esthetic experience in artistic phenomena, the role of myths of blood in formation of racist image of man and principles of democracy based on a system of inter-group greements. The analysis of Ossowski’s ideas unveils his characteristic concepts of subjective research and humanistic determination of the world of material and social human products as a principle of humanistic sociology. One can also trace the vision of humanity as a process of communication and co-existence among human individuals.
