Summary/Abstract: In the economic life of the medieval town or village, agriculture played a relatively important role. Over time, this role paled somewhat but was never lost. Our cities as well as the Balkan and European ones, although having as main activity the handicraft and the trade, could not live normally without also exercising agriculture or its specialized branches of it. The whole population of the towns could not be engaged in artisanal production, trade or in other characteristic works for the city.
