Summary/Abstract: In the thirties a concept of a Siberian literature and novel, revealing not only an aspirational but a descriptive character as well, emerged on the quarterly published “Sybirak”, a periodical connected with Piłsudski’s supporters. To a great part it concerned fictional literary works which did not concentrate on the Polish martyrdom but presented Siberia as an ordinary geographic land with unlimited natural and economic values. Such a literature was meant to stop readers from associating Siberia with the martyrdom of Polish citizens. The concept of a Siberian novel included literary works of different artistic values and genres the action of which took place in Siberia. This very paper is devoted to this concept.
