Summary/Abstract: The article concentrates on the items of the ceremonial and family lexis in Belarussian nuptial songs published in the collection Lud białoruski (Belarussian Folk) by Michał Federowski and in the dialect of the north-eastern Białystok region. Both collections partly share the territory, however, there is a 70-years time difference between them. From the comparison of the ceremonial and family lexis in these collections a conclusion can be drawn that words denoting persons participating in the wedding ceremony, such as swat (matchmaker), drużko (best man), swańka, drużka (bridesmaid) did not undergo during these 70 years any significant changes. Words denoting the degree of affinity, such as świekier (father in law), świekrucha. Instead of old word like załwica, dziewier, jatro;ka częściej używa się szwagier (brother in law), szwagierka (sister in law), bratawaja, bracicha
