Specific´s of the directorial poetics of Ondrej Spišák

Summary/Abstract: The author brings a global view on the specifics of the poetics of the Slovak theatre director Ondrej Spišák (1964) in the context of his work’s expression modalities and his typical directorial handwriting. This complex approach to Spišák’s directorial work allows the author, at least to a certain extent, to summarize some constant features of his creative work although his aim is not to provide Spišák’s complex portrait. By briefly analyzing selected productions by this director, the author intends to identify their obviously dominant construction and composition elements. He pays special attention to Spišák’s different ways of creating a theatrical sign, which inarguably lies at the heart of the formation of individual reception parameters and effects on the audience.
