Impact of the Family Socio-economic Status on Academic Attainment of the Pupil
Vplyv socioekonomického statusu rodiny na prospech žiaka v škole – súčasný stav na Liptove

Summary/Abstract: The Current State in the Liptov Region. The paper describes and analyzes the academic attainment of pupils in relationship to family socio-economic status. Empirical data come from a survey conducted in May and June 2010 in the Liptov region. The socio-economic parameters used were family income, parent education, parent profession, and grandparents education. In addition to these data, findings included higher education preferences as categorized according to income and education of parents.
